Children's television host. Trained as an occupational therapist, Canadian-born Joy Ringham came to Iowa State College as a special student to study applied art (November 1950-November 1951). While studying at Iowa State, she became interested in the WOI Radio Workshop where she was first introduced to television. She worked as an artist in the WOI Television Art Department. Producer Dick Hartzell asked Joy to assist him in planning a handicraft section for a new program...
